Let's Watch Videos and Eat Popcorn

It's Friday. The weather is turning colder. This seems like a great time to pop some popcorn, curl up on the couch and watch some videos. Am I right? Trust me - I am. I'm sure that most of you have heard of the "It Gets Better" campaign in response to the recent suicides of gay teens. Read Dan Savage's column in which he suggests that people make videos to let GLBT teens know that, well, it gets better. Of course, there are also criticisms of the campaign because we queer love to debate things. No matter what your feelings, it's hard to deny that the outpouring of video support is lovely. Autostraddle made an "It Gets Better" campaign and invited me to participate. Go watch their video and you'll see the Up Popped A Fox family in there towards the end!

Do you watch Glee? It is one of the most inconsistent shows on television but I watch it. Sometimes, I love it. Sometimes, it makes me crazy. Every once in awhile, though, the music truly touches me. This week was one of those times as I listened to Kurt and Rachel sing a mash-up of Get Happy and Happy Days are here again.

What's better is that this duet led me to the original - Barbara Streisand and Judy Garland.

And you know what? Watching these videos makes me happy. Have a great weekend!
