Best Laid Plans

While in Portugal, I planned to use my camcorder to take tons of amazing footage that I would then use to create wonderfully witty video blogs to share with you. Well, I did take some footage but it was not quite amazing and I never got around to recording the commentary portion. This is pretty typical for me. I have great ideas and then:

  • I don't have time to bring the idea to fruition
  • I have technical difficulties
  • I get lazy

This time around it was that third option that got me. Still, I have the footage so I am going to share it with you whether you like it or not. This is the modern day equivalent of making you watch my vacation slides. So, come into my paneled family room, open up a cold Budweiser, help yourself to some Chex Mix and sit back and pretend to enjoy my home movies.

Episode 1

In this episode, we head to the famous Pasteis de Belem. Pasteis is the Portuguese word for pastries and Belem is a district in Lisbon, so, that just might give away the ending. I'll refer you to the good ol' Wikipedia for a wee bit of history about these little custard tarts. I'll just close by saying that they are very tasty with a dash of cinnamon and powdered sugar. Oh...and they are served warm! Enjoy!
