Merry Christmas to You and Yours!

I went to the grocery store yesterday on the way home from work and every single Halloween item had been removed from the shelves. The jack-0-lanterns, witches and candy had been replaced by holiday baking supplies and Christmas decorations. It felt very strange and, yet, tapped into my iconic memory and felt compelled to make cookies and decorate a tree. I actually started to hum We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Damn...those marketers really know what they are doing. Of course, once I got home and began getting the kids in their Halloween costumes, I came back to reality. We had a great night trick or treating. The weather was mild (a change from the very chilly Halloweens gone by) and there were many people out in our neighborhood.
