Peep Week - Day 5

It's Friday - let's drink! This recipe is courtesy of Grace Yip. She was inspired by her pity for those of us who suffered through one of the worst Minnesota winters in history. She felt that we deserved something tropical and, though we'd probably all prefer a day at the beach, this drink is the next best thing!

Blue Hawaii - Peep Style:

1 ounce light rum

1 ounce Blue Curacao

1 ounce Creme de Coconut

2 ounces pineapple juice

Throw everything in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake. Serve in a wide-mouth glass. Skewer a Peep with a drink umbrella and float it in the drink. The Peep looks like it's chillin' in a pool.

Yip also sent along what she called a "cheater version" and I'm glad she did because I could not find Creme de Coconut. I even asked the guy at the liquor store and I never ask for help in stores ever. He kept trying to convince me that Creme de Cocoa was Creme de Coconut and I kept telling him that it was not. I said, "No. That tastes like chocolate." Then, he escorted me to the Godiva liquer and I gritted my teeth and said, "I am not looking for chocolate!" He then led me back to the Creme de Cocoa. Then, I wrestled him to the ground and forced him to drink Creme de Cocoa and asked, "Does that taste like coconut?! No I don't think it does!" I didn't really do that. I used my "I'm Obviously Irritated Voice" and went over and picked up the following:

2 ounces Malibu Rum

1 ounce Blue Curacao

2 ounces pineapple juice

It would not be an Up Popped A Fox Video Presentation without a few disclaimers. I'll keep it short this time - the lighting is not so great and you might want to turn up the volume. Also, it's pronounced "cocoa" not "cackow". Whatever.

So, mix up a batch and have a very Peepy party!
