Last night, over dinner, we did a little toasting. We toasted to our cooking collective. We toasted to love. Then, Miguel made his toast: "To Obama and all the good that he will bring us!" His wording gave me pause...like maybe he was expecting that Obama was going to be passing out Wii's and Guitar Hero to every child in the USA. So, always the voice of reason, I said, "You know...Obama is not going to solve every problem. He's not a miracle worker". He said, "Mama, I know that but he's going to try to do the right thing and that's all we can ask." Isn't that the truth? Yesterday, the sky was grey and cloudy and, this morning, the sun was shining so brightly during my commute that I had to squint and put on sunglasses.
Don't you just love it when the literal and figurative align?
