Empty Bowls

Empty BowlsLuisa, Zeca and I headed down to our neighborhood's park building for Powderhorn Empty Bowls tonight. We entered and there were several long tables filled with beautiful bowls. There were so many amazing bowls to choose from, so many incredible colors and so many different shapes. Zeca picked her bowl quickly, a pinkish purple one. Luisa picked hers pretty easily, a deep burgundy with a black rim. We picked one out for Miguel, even though he was spending the night at a friend's house. I had a very hard time choosing but eventually chose a small periwinkle bowl. We made our donation and entered the gym and found a table of friends. There were several different soups: curry lentil, creamy pumpkin, black bean chili and tomato with swiss chard. I didn't try them all but the lentil soup was fabulous. It was a great night - great food for a great cause. Zeca, who ate nothing but bread, said she had a lot of fun. Her final pronouncement, however, was, "I like soup....but not really". Updated to add the picture because you deserve to see the cool bowls. I'm just thoughtful that way...
